dōTERRA started out humbly in 2008 with a mission of finding and sharing the purest essential oils with the world. A passionate group of health-care and business professionals set out to make this mission a reality. They formed a company and named it dōTERRA, a Latin derivative meaning “Gift of the Earth.”

To ensure the purity of our products, dōTERRA established a standard of quality in an industry that has never had one. The founders commitment to purity led to the creation of a new standard of therapeutic quality: CPTG Certified Pure Tested Grade^®.

They determined very early on that the best and most effective way to get these amazing oils out into the world was for people to learn about them and share them with others - forging personal relationships and a community of people equally passionate about the oils and their benefits.
